In his scathing new book, journalist and political commentator Bill Moyers takes a hard look at the Bush administration's policies and finds them wanting. From the invasion of Iraq to the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Moyers argues that the Bush administration has failed the American people.

The Invasion of Iraq

Moyers begins his book by examining the Bush administration's decision to invade Iraq in 2003. He argues that the administration's claims about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction were based on faulty intelligence, and that the invasion was therefore illegal.

Moyers also points to the devastating consequences of the invasion, including the deaths of thousands of Iraqi civilians, the displacement of millions more, and the rise of the Islamic State group.

Hurricane Katrina

Hurricane Katrina was a natural disaster, but Moyers argues that the Bush administration's response to the hurricane was a man-made disaster. He points to the administration's slow response to the hurricane, its failure to evacuate New Orleans in a timely manner, and its failure to provide adequate aid to the victims of the hurricane.

Moyers also argues that the Bush administration's response to Hurricane Katrina was a reflection of its overall priorities. He points to the administration's tax cuts for the wealthy, its cuts to social programs, and its support for the Iraq War as evidence that the administration was more interested in helping its corporate friends than in helping the American people.

The Legacy of George W. Bush

In the final chapter of his book, Moyers argues that George W. Bush's legacy will be one of failure. He points to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Hurricane Katrina disaster, and the Great Recession as evidence that the Bush administration made the country less safe, less prosperous, and less respected in the world.

Moyers concludes his book by calling for a new era of American politics, an era based on honesty, integrity, and compassion. He argues that it is time for the American people to reject the failed policies of the Bush administration and to elect leaders who will put the needs of the people first.
