Materials

  • 14-count Aida cloth
  • DMC embroidery floss in the following colors:
    • White
    • Black
    • Red
    • Green
    • Yellow
  • Embroidery needle
  • Scissors
  • Instructions

  1. Begin by centering the pattern on your Aida cloth. Use a pencil to lightly mark the center of the cloth, and then align the center of the pattern with the mark.
  2. Thread your needle with two strands of white floss. Starting at the center of the pattern, begin stitching the outline of the gnome's body.
  3. Once you have stitched the outline of the body, fill in the area with white floss. Use a backstitch to create a smooth, even surface.
  4. Next, stitch the gnome's hat. Use two strands of red floss to stitch the brim of the hat, and then use two strands of green floss to stitch the top of the hat.
  5. To create the gnome's beard, use two strands of white floss to stitch a series of long, loose stitches. Start at the bottom of the gnome's face and work your way up to the top of the hat.
  6. For the gnome's nose, use two strands of black floss to stitch a small circle. Place the circle in the center of the gnome's face.
  7. To create the gnome's eyes, use two strands of black floss to stitch two small dots. Place the dots above the nose.
  8. Finally, add a few finishing touches to your gnome. Use two strands of yellow floss to stitch a small flower on the gnome's hat. You can also add a few stitches of white floss to create a scarf.

Tips

  • If you are new to cross stitch, I recommend starting with a smaller project. This will help you get the hang of the basic stitches and techniques.
  • Be sure to use a sharp needle. This will help you create neat and even stitches.
  • Take your time and enjoy the process! Cross stitch is a relaxing and rewarding hobby.

This Cross Stitch Pattern Easter Gnome is a fun and easy way to add a touch of whimsy to your holiday decor. With just a few simple stitches, you can create a charming gnome that will bring joy to your home for years to come.
